What’s the difference between cell-cast and continuous-cast acrylic?
Cell-cast acrylic is poured and cured between glass plates, giving it superior optical clarity, thickness consistency, and machinability Calsak’s exclusive Acrycast® line is cell-cast. Continuous-cast acrylic is produced in a faster, lower-cost process better suited to high-volume, less optically demanding applications.
Is HDPE or PVC better for outdoor applications?
Both hold up outdoors, but the right choice depends on the application. HDPE offers strong chemical and moisture resistance and is common in tanks, cutting boards, and marine components.
Rigid PVC (including proprietary lines like LumaTek®) is favored for construction and signage where dimensional stability and paintability matter more than chemical exposure.
